Illustration Agreement

Illustration Deliverable Terms

This agreement is between the client listed above and Kim Crothers Art & Design LLC, a Limited Liability Company LLC, Business ID 1455369. Kim Crothers serves as President, Founder, and Owner.

1. Custom illustration work

Kim Crothers Art & Design LLC may create custom illustrations, sketches, character artwork, book artwork, cover artwork, or related visual art for the client’s specific book or project listed above.

2. Deposit and Payment

The client agrees to the following payment schedule unless otherwise agreed in writing:

• 25% of the total agreed project fee is due before illustration work begins.
• 50% of the total agreed project fee is due after the client has reviewed and approved the final draft illustrations and before the creation of the completed, print-ready artwork.
• The remaining 25% of the total agreed project fee is due after the client has reviewed and approved the completed low-resolution final artwork.

Once the client has approved the completed low-resolution final artwork, no additional changes or revisions have been requested, and the project has been paid in full (100% of the agreed project fee), Kim Crothers Art & Design LLC will provide links to download the approved, print-ready artwork files for the project within five (5) business days of receiving the final payment.

If the client requests additional changes after approving the completed low-resolution final artwork, the delivery schedule for the print-ready artwork may be adjusted accordingly, and any additional work will be subject to additional fees as mutually agreed upon by Kim Crothers Art & Design LLC and the client.

3. Permitted use

The client may use the finished artwork only within the specific book or project for which the artwork was created. This includes ordinary use of the artwork as part of that book or project, including print, digital, and publishing-platform use.

4. Restrictions on reuse, edits, and derivative works

The client may not copy, redraw, trace, alter, recolor, edit, modify, resell, repackage, reuse, or create derivative works from Kim’s artwork for any other book, product, advertisement, brand, merchandise, website, marketing campaign, social media campaign, AI training, image-generation system, or unrelated project without Kim’s prior written permission.

5. Copyright ownership

Unless Kim separately agrees in writing, Kim Crothers Art & Design LLC retains the copyright and ownership rights to the artwork. The client receives only the limited permission described in this agreement.

6. No transfer to others

The client may not transfer, sell, sublicense, give away, or assign the artwork or usage rights to another person, publisher, company, illustrator, designer, or third party without Kim’s prior written permission.

7. Protection of original style and artwork

The client agrees not to use Kim’s drawings, sketches, drafts, concepts, characters, or finished artwork as the basis for other works created by another artist, designer, software tool, AI system, or third party without Kim’s written permission.

8. Revisions and scope

Reasonable revisions may be discussed as part of the project. Major changes, new concepts, additional illustrations, or work outside the original project scope may require additional payment.

9. Portfolio use

Kim may display the artwork in her portfolio, website, or social media as an example of her illustration work, unless the client and Kim agree otherwise in writing.

10. Simple business agreement

This is intended as a practical small-business illustration agreement. It records the client’s acceptance of Kim’s payment, delivery, and artwork-use terms.
